A gourmet a la carte breakfast is provided each morning, and a complimentary glass of NZ wine and cheese platter are served each evening. Much of our fresh produce is either home grown or sourced locally.
The lodge is set up for you to enjoy the extensive views from the guest lounge and dining space, where we invite you to mix and mingle with the other guests and take advantage of the complimentary tea, coffee and home baking on offer throughout the day.
Take a walk around the garden or relax on a lounger with a book or magazine – the options are endless. If you want a picnic blanket we can provide this for you.
On a clear night, our minimal light pollution means the lodge is also a great place for star gazing.
The Luxmore King Room is the largest of the rooms offering a super king bed with stunning views towards the north end of Lake Te Anau, across to Mount Luxmore and over the garden. There is an en-suite bathroom with salon-grade ecologic guest amenities which cleanse both the body and soul. They contain certified Fairtrade ingredients and are packaged in recycled plastic bottles.
The room also has an outdoor deck with seating.
The South Arm Room is a second king room. It has stunning lake views over the garden and across to the South Arm of Lake Te Anau where you can watch the boats cruising up and down the lake. With walk-in wardrobe area and en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower.
The Takatimu Room has a queen bed and a beautiful view over the garden. It has an en-suite bathroom.
Guest Areas
In addition to their bedroom, all guests have access to the large guest living and dining room where they can sit back and enjoy the ever-changing view. A large gas fire offers additional ambiance and warmth on a cold day.
On hotter days a large terrace to the front of the house accesses the garden, and a courtyard to the rear offers an alternative sheltered space to sit and relax.
Fiordland offers a truly memorable experience for its visitors and offers so much more than Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound and the famous Milford Track. Staying in the area a few days will allow you to obtain a much more in-depth appreciation of this stunning place we call home. Spectacular natural landscapes, cycling trails, boating, fishing and walking are all on offer here. So whether you prefer exploring on foot or from a helicopter we would be delighted to suggest an itinerary just for you.
High Leys Lodge is within easy access of multiple activities, and we also have the beautiful Patience Bay within easy walking distance from the property.
