River Birches is in the heart of an area that is world renowned for its fly fishing. Your guide will collect you from the lodge for an exciting day exploring the famous Tongariro River. If you have a non-fishing companion travelling with you, we suggest a guided hiking trip over the nearby Tongariro Crossing. There is also a gentle riverside walking and bike trail accessible directly from the lodge.
